When I insert ANY CD into my drives, they won't
autoplay. They won't even prompt me. I have checked the
registry as per the Knowledgebase article and both
settings are correct. I can see the files on the drives
but have to click "Setup" for a data disk or have to open
Windows Media Player and then play the Audio CD. Please
help me - it is so FRUSTRATING!!!

In windows explorer, right click on the CD drive and
select properties, then change to the autoplay tab. You
will need to either choose an action for each file
type/media or choose the default which is to prompt for
an action.

Cheers.

Thank you for all your suggestions. However, I still
have a problem. While the autoplay now does do
something - it just brings up the files listing in
explorer. It does not automatically run an audio cd, nor
does it automatically run the autorun.inf file. Also the
Autofix.exe filed came up with the message that whilst
there was a problem, it could not fix it. I do remember
as some stage in the dim past saying 'don't bother me
again' when it asked what I wanted to do when it started
a CD. Perhaps this is the problem - it has its nose out
of joint.

.
Go to Windows XP Expert Zone site on the Internet and
download a small program Powertoys for XP called Tweak UI
in that program it lets you designate drives for Auto-Play.
Hoped this helped!
