AutoNumber

Hi all,

Have encountered a problem in AutoNumbering. I want to create a ID in the
format of e.g. A000001 and so on.

If under normal circumstances, I will put it as "text" and Input mask as

LAAAAAA

However, now I want to system to automatically generate this ID for me
instead of, I go and key in.

Is there anyway that, the autonumbering can be created in such a format??

OR

Let the system automatically generate the last six figures. And let me key
in the first character. As I might need to chose the first character from
A-Z.

This is going to take some programming.

You can find some information to get you started in the article at

the code in the article as a starting point for some pretty strange
numbering schemes.
