Automatically update Word from Excel

Using Office 2003, how do we change something in excel and it wil
automatically change something in Word, ie how do you reference a
excel cell within Word
 
Copy in Excel, then go to Word and select Paste Special from the Edit menu
and then check the Paste Link box.
