Automatically starting slide show

This has been covered sometime in the past, I'm sure, but
can someone please help me ?? - I want to begin a slide
show when the presentation icon is clicked. Right now,
it just brings up all of the slides, and I must manually
start the slide show. How can I get it to start when the
presentation program is selected ??

Change the presentation extension from *.ppt to *.pps

Is the icon on your desk top or in Explorer? By default the .pps extension tells
PowerPoint to open in the slide show mode
