Depending on your system, with Outlook2000 and 2002, opened
attachments may be found in a folder named with the letters beginning
OLK... having the following path:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your_user_name>\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\

I believe OLK* is a system hidden folder by default.

See Micrsosoft Knowledge Base Article #296115 for details.

AFAIK, you can not remove attachments from OE (see
www.tomsterdam.com/insideOE/index.htm - there might be something I'm not
aware of) but you can easily remove attachments from OL - see slipstick.com
for a long list of utilities and VBA code samples to do it.
