Hi, I would like the Internet Explorer to launch when my pc has
connected to the wireless network.

When I boot up, the system will search for network then connect
automatically, it would be a bonus to connect to my chosen homepage
too!

I realise there must be a very simple step to take but I cant find it!

I am using XP pro with IE6

many thanks
Jimmy

Hi,
It's easy enough to get IE to launch at startup. Put a shortcut to
iexplore.exe in the startup folder for your user account.
[C:\Documents and Settings]{your username}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup]

The problem may be that IE will open long before the wireless network
connection is made and IE will time out before connecting.

thanks for your reply, I had tried your suggestion previously but I
would like it to open IE when connection is detected.

is there not anything that checks for connection and performs specified
task?

many thanks
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,
Open your IE Properties, by Double clcik your IE Icon on your desktop and
select Properties from the drop down menu.
On the IE Properties window Click on the connections Tab and Select the
Radio Button labled: Always Dail up My Default Connection.
Hope this helps

No it won't unfortunately, because that's the opposite way round from what
the OP wants - your instructions make IE connect to the internet when
opened - what the OP wants to do is the reverse, ie open IE when the
Internet connection is established.

That True Gordon, thanks for that,Regarding the OP what about when double
click the Connection, on the Login with User name and Password, there
option/Text Box to set a home page, usualy this option by default assigned to
the ISP home page on the first installation(if yours is Broadband) you can
change that to the Web address you like, that which I can think about for now.

Thanks for trying,

there are no options to add homepage to the broadband connection. It
used to be easy in the dial up days!

I'll just have to not be lazy and click IE icon when the connection has
been made.

thanks again
Jimmy
