I have posed this problem before and haven't had much luck getting an answer, so I thought I would post it again. I have checked the box to permanently delete suspected junk e-mail instead of moving it to the Junk E-mail folder. The problem is that Outlook 2003 is ignoring it and putting the e-mail in the folder, which I have to manually purge.

You don't have to manually purge it unless you really want to. Set it to
autoarchive and delete when archiving runs.
