automatic worksheet identification

I have an excel workbook that i record injury stats in.
Each injury has its own worksheet with roughly 30 fields
in it. I have an analysis sheet that imports the field
information from the individual sheets (I use this to
export it to SPSS).

When i add a new worksheet (say No. 8), I have to go to
the analysis sheet, drag and copy the fields from the
previous sheet (No. &) and then painstakingly go through
each field and change the worksheet number (I have used f4
on the cell numbers so they copy ok).

Is there a way I can make excel automatically add one to
the worksheet number when it's dragged and copied?

Not sure if this is what you need but the easiest way
would be to have a sheet before your analysis sheet
called "last sheet" with no information on it. On your
analysis sheet make the range from "Sheet 1" to "Last
Sheet" and when you add new sheets add them before last
sheet and the analysis sheet will not need changing.
