Automatic windows update

I'm having problems setting up the windows update for
windows 2000.

What i'm trying to accomplish is that the critical updates
will download automatically and install themself. But the
only thing is does, it tell me that the downloads are
ready to be install. and sometimes I have to manually do
the windows updates.

So if any can help me out on this situation is deeply
appreciative.

Personally I would hate for them to be installed automatically, I like to be
there when it goes wrong!

Are you using SUS or manually downloading them?

Nothing will go wrong, this is the critical updates that
microsft does. just trying to set it up do download and
install without human intervention.

OK, so you have the update applet in the control panel and you've set it as
you require?
