Automatic Viewing of a Slide Show

I used to be able to click on a .pps attachment to an
email and the show would just automatically start running.
Now, all of the sudden, when I click on these attachments
it only pulls up PowerPoint and I have to manually start
the slide show. Can anyone tell me what happened to my
program? What did I inadvertently do that has changed
these settings? How can I get slide shows to automatically
play again?

It appears as tough your file association for Slide Shows has gotten
corrupted. To fix, try the following:

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Click "Tools", "Folder Options" (might be under "View" menu on older OS)
3. Click the "File Types" TAB
4. Scroll down and select PowerPoint Slide Show
5. Click the "Advanced" button ("Edit" button on older OS)
6. Select the "Open" action and click the "Edit" button
7. The text inside the "Application used to perform action" should say the
following (might be slightly different based on the path and version of your
PowerPoint:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /s "%1"

7. Regardless of the path, make sure the full path is used (says "Microsoft
Office" and not just "Micros~1")
8. Make sure the ( /s "%1") exists after POWERPNT.EXE. This tells it to
open in slide show mode)
9. Click "OK" to close out of all the boxes.
10. Try opening it again.

If you run into problems, this link also explains it:

It worked! Thank you so much!
