Because I have a pitifully slow internet connection, I leave Windows
Automatic update turned off, and only turn it on when I manually check &
download updates....
The problem is that after I finish downloading & installing any updates, and
I turn the automatic updates off, the Windows Task Manager>>Networking screen
shows that I am still downloading small amounts of information!?
Stopping the Application Layer Gateway Service stops what-ever it is being
downloaded, but is this a suitable solution?
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: I'm running Windows XP SP2 with all updates, and use a dialup
connection.
