Automatic Updates

Not sure where to find trouble shooting assistance on
Autoupdate

We are having difficulties making AutoUpdate work off of a
corporate LAN. We have machines located both behind a
restricted firewall and sitting open on the interenet.
The basic symptoms are... Autoupdate Service is running...
and configured (option 3) to grab updates and install at a
specified time each day. We don't see anything in the
system logs to suggest it runs... we don't get the updates
(as noted by running a manual persual through Win Updates
in IE)... Not sure what to make of it. Suspicious that
something else needs to be setup on box. Anyone know
ports involved in communication? any thoughts on what
else to look at?
 
We are having the same issue. Our firewall guy says he
will enable the port if we can find out what port its
looking for. Anyone know what port the Automatic Updates
are trying to use? It doesn't appear to be port 80 since
our proxy is there.
