Disabled is the way you should leave it or is there a question in there
somewhere?

My automatic update had been set to automatic (as recommended by microsoft)
since I got my computer 2 years ago. It is only recently that it changes
itself to turn off automatic updates. I thought it was safe to have it on
automatic so the updates are done without me having to check if there are any.

I want to know what is causing the setting to be changed?

Is it also enabled in the Security Centre? Have a look at this page for the
info you need:

Thanks for the info. I already know how to change the automatic update
settings. That is what I have been doing to change the settings back to the
"automatic" setting. I'm still confused to as why the setting gets turn off?
And why it only started happening recently.

I have been getting notices from McAfee that Downloader FL is being caught
and deleted during my virus scans. As far as I can tell it is being found in
a internet temp file. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or
not. I've done some web searches for my issue but have not found anything
yet.

Thanks, Matt
