Hello Microsoft,
I am writing you to inform you that my automatic update icon has
dissappeared from my screen and am not to good with the computer when it
comes to things like this and have tried to get it back but I don't even
know which ones i have to go into to update manually.

I have tried manually but seems to reject everytime i try to update.
I can tell you that i have xp windows 2002 home edition and office xp
standard both from microsoft.

What I would like is to have the automatic update icon on my screen again so
I could update when it comes up and asks me to update automatically, then all
I had to do was click on the icon and the computer would do the rest.
Please contact me as I have also been having a slow start up and that's not
good either especially when i am with a server for 12 months. Thankyou for
your time and I will look forward to hearing from you.

This group is for the Microsoft Access database program. You may have better
luck in one of the Windows XP groups. However, until then let's see if we
can help. Right click My Computer (on the desktop or in the Start Menu) and
choose Properties. Click on the Automatic Updates tab and make sure the box
at the top is checked. Next, pick from the 3 items below for the install
schedule you want. If the checkbox is grayed out, then the autoupdate
service isn't running. To get to this, right click My Computer and choose
Manage. Go to Services and Applications then Services. The Automatic Update
service should be set for Automatic start. If it's not, double click it and
change the setting. Once it is set on automatic, it should start the next
time you reboot.

If you need further help, please check in one of the Windows XP newsgroups.
