automatic update of program/definitions not working

Microsoft AntiSpyware Version: 1.0.501
i have this setup to automaticly update at 7PM nightly,
but every time i check it, it has not updated, and i have
to do a manual update to remain current.

i ahve a full time conection to the internet, the only
error messages are at the time i have it do an auotmatic
scan

1) - q) "Scheduled scans do not run!" (you have to be logged on for the scan to run)

scheduled scans do run ontime only the update portion
seems to be failing, and i am logged into the desktop at
the during the time the update is supposed to run.
