On several Windows 2000 systems, all running SP4, none of
the users can setup their automatic updates. When
clicking on it from the control panel the service comes
up but it is all greyed out. We are unable to enable the
service either logged on as administrator or as the
normal user.
Tried setting local group policies to enable, registry
entries to force it to enable, but it plain doesn't work
and we can't configure it normally.
Checked in services for the Automatic Updates service and
it is started.
Would appreciate any help, don't want to burn down these
systems only for this service.
Thanks....
