Your clock/date appears to be wrong !
It is not unheard of for an incorrect time/date to cause problems with
Windows-Update.

I am running XP Pro.
I have set my request for auto updates to alert me of
them before installing and when there is an update to be
installed, i get an indicator on my toolbar.
Within the past week (and without paying attention) i
have received (and installed) the same security update
(see above) 4 times.
Tonight I paid attention, went to my auto updates
installation history and noticed I have installed this
same update that i am again, tonight being reminded to
install.
Question: Is it possible that each update (though they
all have the same number) is slightly different?
Or is it possible microsoft continues to send me these
updates as they still detect potential vulnerablity,
despite my previous downloads?
Or are they screwing up by continuing to send the same
update?
I am not sure if I should continue installing this/these,
or disregard?
Also, not sure who to contact for more clarification?
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Also, when I go to their technet site for patches, they
always ask which version of XP Pro I am using (28 bit, 64
bit, gold, etc.) and i don't know.
Can anyone tell me where/how I might check this?
Because I am not sure an ddon't want to install a patch
that may be incompatible, I only download the "stuff"
that is suggested via auto updates.
Any help?
First time I am posting and hope to hear from you
thanks.

It is highly suggested from various places
http://www.blackviper.com/
here is just one, that you disable the automatic
updates. It just uses processes unnecessarily
and can pop up at the most inopportune times.
Windows update is just three clicks. Start>
all programs>windows update.
