Hi,
On my Windows XP (and my Windows 2000 Pro) I have this
problem:

Every time I log in, the Windows Explorer starts up
automatically.
It does'nt matter if the Windows Explorer is open or not
when I log out.

This happens on a fresh installation.

How can I avoid this?

Hope someone can help me

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP

Additionally, there are known issues with My Documents and the System32 folder opening automatically. Which folder is explorer opening to?
