John

We are trying to set up a couple of computers to
automatically shutdown after a time period of inactivity.
How can I set that up?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

You can set your machine to hibernate after x amount of time.

Check out Q308098 - HOW TO: Configure a Computer to Enter Hibernation in
Windows 2000

Hope this helps.

I am not looking to hibernate it since we are looking for
it to also kick the user logged onto the machine off of
it. This is a security issue, plus a energy savings issue.
We need the machine available for other users to log into
it. And trying to eliminate somebody from forgeting to
shut down the computer at the end of the night.
Thanks

John,

Check out KB Q156677 - Logoff Screen Saver Does Not Function in Windows NT -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;156677

WINEXIT.SCR ships with the resource kit. This will work for what your
trying to do.
