Automatic shut-down

My newly built Biostar 200t shuts down after anything from a few seconds to
a few minutes. I haven't been able to install an OS yet because of this. I
suspect it's heat-related, as the PC tends to shut down quicker if it's had
a few warm-ups previously. But it has a P4 CPU, and those are supposed to
slow down if they're overheating, not shut down altogether. Can anyone
please help?

Hi,

How many watts is your power supply? How many hard drive, CD and DVD
drives do you have? Do you have any other devices that draw power from
the power supply hooked up? I have heard that if you don't have enough
wattage from your power supply that random shutdowns can and do occur.
This may be your problem. I have heard that a person should have at
least a 400W power supply if they are running 4 or more drives from it.

Hope that this helps,
Dan
