Is there a way to select how often Outlook checks for mail w/o having to manually hit the send/receive button? At home (cable connection) it seems that as soon as someone sends me an email it appears in my Outook Inbox, yet at work (dial up connection?) nothing is downloaded unless I manually select Send/Receive? Is this a function of my ISP or a setting in Outlook? How can I set up Outlook @ work to automatically download my emails as soon as they hit the email server

Thank you for your help!

hello Robin,

Well it depends on what version of outlook you are using but I am using
Outlook 2003. If I can remember correctly the instructions for both are the
same.

1. go to the "tools" option in outlook
2. select "options"
3. select the "mail setup" tab
4. select send/receive and you should be able to figure it out from that
point.

Now I am not sure if the "mail setup" tab is the same in the older version
but what I can tell you is that the option to choose when Outlook
send/receive is under the "tool" "option" menu....good luck.

Method depends on your Outlook version and your connection type, which you
must post.
