Automatic Scan

MS Antispyware used to start up automatically when I
switched on my computer and scan at the set time. Since
having a PC World Health Check, although the software is
still installed, I have to initiate a scan each day. Nor
does it update automatically.

What do I have to do to get MS Antispyware to start up
when I switch on my computer - and to gets its icon to
appear in the system tray as it used to do.

Hope I have explained my problem - just a novice computer
user.

Many thanks Tom - this has solved my problem.

I notice, however, that the starting of the scan does not
work in retrospect like my antivirus scan - by which I
mean that if I switch on the computer after the scheduled
time, the MSAS scan does not start. But as I usually run
the MSAS later in the day, so that it does not clash with
my antivirus scan, this is not a problem.

Just another query - if you catch my reply - does running
my antivirus and MSAS scans at the same time create any
problems?

Regards

Alvis (the novice!)

Hello Alvis,

it is possible that this give a error so better not!
Also the HDD is making overtime because 2 differend programs are looking
at the same time to the HDD, so never do 2 things at the time that have
a lot HDD actions! It also slow's the both program's.

Hello Tom

Many thanks - once again. I shall return my MSAS scan to
the evening where it used to be so that it does not clash
with my antivirus which runs at start up in the morning.

Alvis
