Automatic Resizing

There is some function that automatically resizes
whatever I have on my document when I insert something
new. For example, I have a complex chart w/ boxes,
images, and text. When I try to insert another image, it
automatically resizes everything else on the page. It's
driving me CRAZY!

Is this some option that I can turn off?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Stephanie

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Stephanie,

When you insert an object and the slide layout changes (that sounds like
what you are describing) you should have a button that appears (usually at
the bottom corner of the object that was just inserted). This is called the
Paste Recovery button.

Simply click on the Paste Recovery button and choose "Stop Automatic Layout
of Inserted Objects"
