Automatic Page numbers and text on all pages

I need to add automatic text and automatic page numbers on all pages in word
2003 footer.....I can't get rid of "odd" and "even" in header

In Word, click on File | Page Setup | Layout | uncheck the
"Different odd and even" box | OK.
