Automatic Launch of IE 6 on boot up

All the sudden my IE 6 browser will automatically launch on boot up and try go to the IE search page, even before I can dial into my ISP. I think I may have set IE 6 to launch on boot up, possibly by using the sycronize feature, but don't know what I did for certain. Any help in setting this so it doesn't launch automatically on boot would be appreciate

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
