Automatic field entry

Hi All

I am building a supplier database for my family business and would like to
have the telephone number displayed on each record for the selected supplier
bu because we buy many different products from each supplier it would take a
long time to enter the number in manually when entering records! Is the a way
of that field automatically being filled when the supplier is selected when
entering the data?

Sounds like you might be reinventing the wheel here. Have you looked at the
sample database, "Northwind" that ships with Access. It is designed for
maintaining vendors, invoicing products, and producing invoices, reports,
catalogs, etc.

When entering an invoice, it defaults in all the vendor information
(address, phone, etc.) after you select their name from a drop-down list.
It also allows you to have different shipping and physical addresses.

If I were you, I'd take a look at that database and either use it as your
starting point, or at least copy some of the functionality into your file.
