Automatic email address completion

Zac Adams

Automatic email address completion was working on Outlook
2000. I installed Office 2000 pro as an upgrade inorder
to use access. After the install the automatic naming
function does not work. Does anyone have an idea about
restarting this function.

Thanks,
Zac

Hi Zac,

do you have the 'Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields'
option enabled? You can find it in 'Tools\Options\Email
Options...\Advanced Email Options...'

Best regards,
Mathias

That command was introduced in Outlook 2002. The original poster is using
Outlook 2000.

Well, actually Outlook 2000 didn't have an AutoComplete feature...it used
Auto Resolution, which would create a cache based on choices you made from a
list of possible matches from your Contacts when you started typing a name
or address. Outlook would save these resolutions for later use, in a file
with a .NICK extension. If that file is still in place, it should still
work...if not, you may have to delete it or rename it and start over. (If
you're using Windows 2000 or XP, the .NICK file will be in a hidden or
system folder, so make sure you include hidden and system folders in your
search. It also helps to have file extensions visible.)
