Basically, the text in the table should pick up its formatting information
from the text placeholder on the slide master. It will be the next size down
in the font size dropdown, though.
So, for example, if your placeholder on the slide (where it says "click to
add text") uses Algerian font face, red color, 24 pt bold font, when you use
Insert | New Slide and choose a "title and table" slide layout, the font in
the table cells will be Algerian font face, red color, 20 pt bold.
The line color is based on the slide color scheme -- the second swatch
(labeled "text and lines"). Make a new slide master and change the color
scheme for it so the table lines will be what you want.
I can't find a way to set the default line thickness or fill color, sorry.
Your other option is to create a table the way you want it and then
copy/paste and change the data.

Hi. Here's my question:
In PowerPoint, is there any way I can set a design default for tables? In
other words, I want to customize a table and then anytime I choose to make
another table, I want the same style.
I haven't found that the paint brush works for this sort of thing.
Thanks.
