Can anyone tell me how to set a default that would make Excel input a whole number into a cell that would read as a whole number and not convert the last two digits to a decimal? For instance, if I wanted the number in the cell to be 625, Excel changes it to 6.25 when I press enter. This has just started happening and I cannot get the General, Numbers or Customize option to make Excel stop doing that.

Jolie,

Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the Edit tab. There,
uncheck the "Fixed Decimal" setting.

Ho, ho, hello Jolie :o)

In Excel 2000 french, we've it in menu :
outils | options | onglet modification, décimales fixes
[Tools | options | 3rd tab | untick "fixed comma"]
