Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Version: 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4
--------------------------------
I use a cable modem ( LAN )
When I originally installed 2K my
I did something which I cannot recall
so that whenever I bootup, Windows
*automatically* connects me to the internet.
From there I just launch IE or OE.

This is all very convenient but I
would like more control over this.

Is there a program or setting that will
allow me to disconnect/reconnect ?

I can disable my Accton ENI1207D
Series PC Fast Ethernet Adapter
to disconnect and then re enable it
but this seems a rather crude method.

 Any help or advice appreciated

Some firewalls, eg Zone Alarm, will allow you to block all internet
traffic. Kind of like having an on/off switch.
