Hello.

I just received a Lenovo Ideapad Y430 and everything is working ok-I'm
really happy with the notebook. However, I have one issue that is mildly
frustrating.

Although I have selected to connect automatically when my network is in
range and to connect even if the network is not broadcasting (both in
Wireless Network Properties), these selected settings do not save if my
system goes into sleep mode or it is turned off. When I wake the machine up
or turn it on, I have to manually connect to my network.

Ideas, anyone?

Thx

Does your computer have a built-in Lenovo networking utility? If so,
you might have to configure it. For example, my Lenovo Thinkpad X61
has a utility called "Access Connections" in Start > All Programs >
ThinkVantage.

Great idea! In fact, there is a Lenovo utility called ReadyComm 4.0 in
which you can access an item called Search WLAN. There, you can set up an
automatic connection to any network in range.

The interesting thing is, if you select automatic connect in Window's
network properties, it still won't save.

In any case, setting up the Search WLAN utility worked. I rebooted and my
system connected automatically.

Thx for the tip!!
