Automatic 'bullets' in Word 2000

C

Chris van Lelyveld

I have a colleague who uses MS Word 2000. His name is
Andrew Fyvie. When he starts a document with his name by
typing 'A Fyvie' and hits 'enter', it automatically gives
him a 'B' on the next line. I have hunted in help with no
success. He can obviously work around by hitting 'enter'
again which makes the 'B' disappear and then he can
backspace but that deals with the symptom and not the
cure. Please help.

Hi Chris,

From the Tools menu, select AutoCorrect Options and then the AutoFormat As
You Type tab and uncheck the "Automatic numbered lists" item under the
"Apply as you type" section of the dialog.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a consulting basis.

Hope this helps
