Hi,

Is it possible to create an automated response to incoming messages in
Windows mail, if I am away on holiday. I want to create one so that for all
incoming mail that goes to my one folder, they will get a response saying I'm
away and when I'll be back.

Thanks,
Kelly

Bear in mind that could be an invitation to burglars.

Ps.
Such automated responses confirm to spammers
that the email address is live.

Yes, if the spammer has bothered to include a valid return address,
which is usually not the case. More often then not, they use the return address
of someone they have a grudge against, so all the bounce notices and hateful
replies go there.

Although a simple responder is easily created, it should
be sophisticated enough to respond only to contacts in
your address book. It should never give a vacation message
to strangers or spammers.
I don't think Windows Mail's rules have sufficient flexibility
to achieve that degree of discretion.

I hadn't thought of that... (reaches for address book!)
