Hi,

I have many mpg files that I would like to encode to wmv. I have used
Windows media encoder, but I get a blinking line on the top left screen
(like a "_" ), that really annoys me. I've tried other tools but I don't
really like them (over complicated for what I want to do).
I've been using MM2 with great success, I really love the chose file size
option (since my videos are the same size (around 20 to 25 min each). I have
been saving them as 110 MB, which gives me great quality.
But, I can't keep spending 1/2 hour for each video, I would like to know if
anyone has been able to script or automate MM2. Or if anyone knows why I get
that blinking line on windows media encoder.

Thanks,

Rodrigo.

Hi Rodrigo,

I'm glad to hear you like the choose file size option in MM2. Unfortunately
there is no way to use MM2 to 'batch encode' files using a script.

Using the encoder, you can crop off the blinking line by going to the 'Video
size' tab in the 'Session properties' dialog. Select 'Custom cropping' from
the Method dropdown, and set 'Top' to 1 (or however many lines are needed to
remove the blinking line). If you're using scripts, I'm sure there is a way
to do this using the Encoder SDK as well.

Cheers
Gareth
