that is a problem with microsoft. You have to have it packaged as a MSI to
run it automatically. You can't deploy an executable with prompts and have
the computer respond to the prompts.

You either need to get software to package you exe into a MSI or get it
packaged in another method.

I've been trying this thing, but the Winstall utility to
create this.msi package refuses to do the final conversion
with an error messages stating the the source file must
begin with "@Source WindowsFolder etc."
I then have to uninstall the patch, start the Discover
process again, reinstall the patch during the process and
were back to square - 1 since you can't run the patch
repeatedly etc. etc..
Any suggestions on creating the MSI to apply the patch
TIA

As we reluctantly say too-often when MSI packaging doesn't work, when all
else fails, use Script-It.

Script-It is exactly what you need to "push buttons" for you. I think it's
part of the resource kit; maybe it's available for download. A search on
Microsoft for Script-It should get you more info.
