Autogenerated e-mials

In my application, i need to incorporate the functionality of sending e-mails.
The system should send e-mails on a daily basis..how can i accomplish this
task in .net.
 
Does your app need to send e-mail when the user interface is not running?
What about on weekends when no one is logged in to the machine?
