AutoFilter not enabled

I am unable to use the AutoFilter function. I select the
cells, go to the Data menu,point to Filter but all its
functions are disabled...How can I change this?

Try unselecting your cells first. Most times when menu items aren't
"Enabled" it is because of the state you have your worksheet in. For
example, if you are in "Edit" mode of a cell a lot of menu items don't work.
Click any cell and try the AutoFilter again. You will get dropdowns for all
columns of data. Choose the one you want to filter by clicking the dropdown
arrow and selecting the data you want.

If this doesn't work, the only other thing I could think of is your
worksheet might be protected (Tools", "Unprotect", "Worksheet").

I' afraid that did not help. I unselected cells and did
as you said clicking any cell, but the AutoFilter option
did not appear enabled. I also tried to unprotect my
workseet but the two options:"Protect Sheet" & "Protect
Workbook" are also disabled!

Do you have more than one worksheet selected? (check the Title Bar for
the word [Group] after the file name)
 
Yes. there was more than one worksheet selected That

Another cause that sometimes pops up is under Tools-
Options and View if Hide All is selected and not Show all.
