AutoFilter: custom filter hides all

I have a column that contains number/letter format 100ABC, 101DEF, etc. When
I do a custom filter to show all the cells that contain 100, etc., the entire
column hides. How do I get it to show the cells I want to see?

If you want to mail me a copy of the workbook direct, then I will take a

Change the at and dots to make valid email address
 
File received and returned.

The Values were numeric 100314 etc., not Text 100ABC as first posted, hence
begins with wouldn't work.
Setting criteria to
100000
Click to expand...
and
<101000
gives a list of all values that are 6 digit and begin with 100
