Autofill ( ) parathesis and - dashes in Contact Number

How do I enable this feature. So I don't have to type in the () and -

example

(222) 333-3333
 
We are to assume you are talking about a phone number field? Masking of
phone numbers is automatic once you set your default dialing location for
your operating system correctly

It didn't prompt me to type in my area code.

How would I go about inputting the area code? Thanks

Keep in mind I am working on a mobile laptop, so the area code may change.
But I'm not sure if that even matters.

Micosoft 2007 Outlook

There seems to be no properties options.
