I am just getting going with Windows Vista. I have usually created a
shortcut to place in my quick launch to execute the screensaver. What is the
"trick"/"Hack" to accomplish this same task for Vista? Anyone know?

Thank you!

Hi,

No different than previous versions of Windows. Create a new shortcut to
your preferred .scr file by right clicking the desktop and choosing
new/shortcut. Then drag it onto the quicklaunch bar.

Oh duh!! I feel so stupid. Sheeshh....
I guess I am more overwhelmed with this new system than I thought. *LOL*
Thanks Rick. It works perfectly!

I have a new problem Rick, that I hope you are able to help me out with.
I've recently installed another application which unfortunately
re-associated .scr files to itself. Not good for me and this nice lil'
screensaver shortcut we made.

There seem to be a "few" TOO MANY issues out there about Vista not allowing
you to unassociate file types. UGH!

Now....I do understand how to go about associating a file type, but what is
the actual executable for the .scr (screensaver) file types? The
rundll32.exe?

..SCR is currently being associated to Wordpad, and I have gone to change
this to the rundll32.exe but nothing resets.

Needless to say, I am VERY unhappy with this aspect of the VISTA
programming, but what can we say? *shrugging*

Appreciate your help once again.

My hero! :o)
