Error Message
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32|AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

I tried to install a printer driver and I got this error message. I
downloaded the driver becaue I thought the driver on the CD might be damaged.
But I got the same error. I reintalled Win 2000 but still the error came up.

What can I do?

This article may help. Also make sure your AV definitions are up-to-date.

Dave,

thanks for your reply. The link in your reply points to the solution for XP.
Do you know where I can find a similar info for Win 2000?

See if these ones help.

Sorry Dave,

but I don't know what you mean by "AV definition are up-to-date".
Would you let me know how I can check this and update it?

AV = anti virus
Usually malware that causes this.
