Autoconnect preventing home page display

I have an adsl connection configured as a dial-up to
automatically connect when I start IE6. When I start IE6,
I get an "Action Cancelled" error displayed whilst the
connection is being established, then instead of
displaying my home page, it displays search engine. Once
its connected, pressing home does display my home page.
