Hi There

Is there a way to configure outlook for offline use automatically?
I need to find a way to apply outlook offline use configuration to all
laptops in our organization, approx 400.

Thanks

Stephen

You can deploy a mst, cmw or prf-file for that depending on your deployment
methods. See the Office Resource Kit for more details.

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

I tried creating a new mst file and a pol file, but both didn't automatically
switch on the offline files for outlook. Was able to configure the offline
settings. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

How did you apply them to the clients? Tried it with a prf-file already?

Hi Roady

I applied the mst using the normal *.msi TRANSFORM="transform_file.MST"
Applied the pol using policy editor for testing purposes.
Maybe, I'm missing something in the MST file creation.
Do you know which section is supposed to activate the offline files?

Thanks

Stevie

Hi Roady

Followed your instructions, which is what I had been doing, and still no joy.
Had to check the check box to switch on offline use.

Thanks

Stephen
