Dan

I have something on my machine that keeps changing my
Autoconfiguration IP Address from the one issued by my
gateway router. I can not pin point the problem nor do I
know how to debug what is causing to change my IP
addresses. It only happens on this one machine. Does
anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve?

Thanks

Some more info needed: are you connected to a network?
What SP-level is your machine? Is the nic set to automatically obtain an IP
and DNS from the DHCP-server?

Yes. I'm connected to a network. My Windows 2000 OS is
at SP 4. The NIC is set to automatically obtain an IP
and DNS from the DHCP server.

Checked the cable? Checked the nic?

I replaced the NIC and the cable. And I still have the
problem. The DHCP is sending back an address of
169.254.45.206. This looks similar to another problem
you were working with another person. Did you have any
resolution on it?

Hi Dan,

It's the APIPA-address, that a nic will give itself if it can't find a
DHCP-server.
Checked the port of the hub/switch?
Do you have ms03-039 installed?
