Autocomplete

I can not get a URL to go away. I have cleared files, cookies, history,
autocomplete forms including passwords. EVERYTHING else is gone but this one
URL. It only appears as an autocomplete, it does not appear in the pull down
box or history.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS OR TELL ME WHERE TO LOOK?

Hi winchster :-)

These URLs you see are in the index.dat file in the History folder.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm
will delete the History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will
be created when
you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

also..

CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/
should be able to clear the History and the index.dat file.
Just check the appropriate boxes and run it.

Hope this helps.

I can not find C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\HISTORY.
There is no folder called local settings on my computer. If there is, I
can't find it. I have used CCleaner and still can't get this to go away.
