AutoComplete - won't hold passwords

I just bought a new computer with Win XP installed.
Using Internet Explorer 6 SP1.
I am unable to keep SOME passwords that I used to keep
before using Win 2000 and IE 6 SP1.

Sometimes the window pops up and asks if I would like to
keep the password. Other times it won't. Can't figure
this out. I've tried de-selecting password in Tools /
Internet Options / Content and restarting IE, then re-
selecting password - no go.
Any help you could supply would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response - I looked them over and can't
find anything that references IE 6 and XP in these
circumstances.
Any other thoughts?
