Autocomplete under XP forgets.

I have a new computer running XP Pro. I've upgraded from 2000 Pro. The rest
is pretty much as before.

One thing bothers me. I used to do weekly searches on Google, and as a
result, all I had to do was to type the first letter of the word in question
and autocomplete would finish the rest. Everything is ticked as before, but
now autocomplete no longer works. Not on Google and a few other websites.
History works, autocomplete remembers some things. I've added Google to my
trsuted sites, but it's made no difference. Nether has 'enabling' all cookies
(privacy).

Someone else told me they had the same problem and had not been able to
resolve it. Is this a part of XP? Is there a conflict between XP and search
engines? Can someone explain and save me a lot of research.
 
in internet explorer click on tools, internet options, content, click auto
complete and check the settings.

Thank you Don but I did that. Everything is clicked as it should be. BTW, it
no longer works for MSN search either.

Try unchecking everything clearing forms and passwords and rebooting this
should reset everything. Have you considered using the Fire foxBrowser?
