Hello,

One of the users that I spuuort has reported that their Autocomplete
passwords have all been lost. Cookies have not been cleared. The following
updates were loaded shortley before this was reported.
934268
931261
932330
930178
932168
I am not looking to recover these passwords, I am looking to see if one of
these updates could be responsible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I haven't seen any other reports of this.

Is this IE6 on XP SP2?

Except for the last comment about Cookies I would have guessed
that the user tried RIES. How accurate is that observation about Cookies?
E.g. if there are still Cookies but only recent ones it could just give you
an upper bound for when a RIES command could have been done... <eg>

Otherwise the simplest assumption would be that the user inadvertently
used the Clear Passwords button... Unfortunately I don't think that the
Event Viewer keeps track of such events. It would be a good one to audit
at least to help diagnose symptoms such as this but I haven't had much luck
with auditing even when I did know what object I wanted to use.

Hi,
Again, I doubt that this was caused by an update for Windows XP or IE6. If
the user didn't (inadvertantly) clear stored passwords, perhaps a
third-party privacy/security/cleanup program was involved.

If, new login data isn't being stored, this article may help:
