Autocomplete of To: field

I have several questions about Outlook ... and will ask one in each of several posts

I cannot figure out what algorithm Outlook (or Outlook Express for that matter) uses to complete the address that I start typing in the To: field. For example, I have a bunch of entries in my (sorted) address book that start with the letter "S" and when I hit "s" in the To: field a name that is right smack in the middle of my S's comes up. I would prefer that if several entries match what I have typed so far that the first one in the sorted address book come up first.

[Thanks]

Again, it depends on the version which you left out of all of your posts.

Outlook 2003 does not use the contact folder or address book to build the
cache for auto-completion of mail addresses. Rather, it uses your recently
typed addresses when building this cache. If you have an incorrectly typed
address in the cache, to remove it simply arrow down to it when addressing a
mail and press delete.
