autocomplete not working

Using Outlook 2002, when I enter a name in to "TO" field,
most often the autocomplete feature doesn't work (Caps
and spelling is correct and autocomplete is turned on)...
any suggestions? Thank you.
 
Could you please provide enough detail for us to help?
"Most often it doesn't work" tell us nothing.
What are you doing? What are you expecting to happen that isn't? Have you
sent enough messages from this profile to have a well populated
autocompletion cache?
 
Sorry... in the "to" line of the email, in OE, I started
to type in the name of the addressee, as they appear in
my contacts list (address book there), and for "Peter",
when I typed PE it automatically filled in the rest of
the name. It does fill in the name on occasions, but not
others. I have no idea what it might autocomplete on a
name once, and not do it, on the same name, next time.

Autocomplete has nothing to do with your Contacts list. As I said, it uses a
cache derived from messages you have already sent.
